Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is a significant milestone in our spiritual journey. In this sacrament, we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, knowledge, right judgment, understanding, courage, piety, and fear of the Lord. This sacred rite completes the Sacrament of Baptism, bringing us deeper into our faith.
Together, Baptism, the Eucharist, and Confirmation form the ‘Sacraments of Christian initiation,’ which are essential for fostering our spiritual growth. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1285) beautifully explains that the reception of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. Through Confirmation, we are more closely united with the Church and empowered with the Holy Spirit’s special strength. As true witnesses of Christ, we are called to spread and defend the faith through our words and actions.
Join us in celebrating this sacred sacrament and embracing the fullness of our Christian life.
Young people wishing to be confirmed after Easter are encouraged to present themselves as candidates for the annual parish confirmation programme. The candidates are usually between the ages of 14 to 16 at the time of enrolment. The confirmation programme is organised by the Fr Rajiv and Fr Jakub and is delivered by a team of catechists.
